Aren't you glad that God, instead of making it overly complicated for us, has simply said, in him, in Christ - Paul is telling us - we have already obtained an inheritance. There's nothing we have to do except accept it.

Dear Jesus, thank you so much for writing eternity on our hearts. Thank you for calling us to you so that we may spend eternity with you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dear Jesus, I pray that you would help us to keep our minds on you, so that we may have that perfect peace that only you can bring. In this world, there is not a lot of peace. But YOU give us that peace in our hearts when we follow you.

Lord, I pray that You would help our hearts to look for opportunities to love those who don't know You; to show Your love for them, give witness to the gospel when appropriate, and to just show them that we care.

When you read John 1:14 and think about the Word becoming flesh... remember, Jesus became fully human, Jesus lived among us, Jesus revealed his glory, and Jesus did all that to invite us to himself.

Dear Jesus, thank you so much for how, by faith, we can understand these truths that are in your Word. Help us, Lord, to seek your truth and a better understanding, and also to rest in you when we don't understand.

Dear Jesus, thank you for knitting together, from the beginning of time, the tapestry that shows us the full life of Christ and how all those prophecies were fulfilled in Him.

Dear Jesus, thank you that you show us through your creation and your Word who you are, and that means that we have no excuse for not knowing you. Help us to want to know you more and help us to stop making excuses when we do wrong.

Dear Lord, give us patience in the growing, give us patience in the harvesting, give us patience in our own life, but let us bear sweet fruit for you.

Thank you, Lord, that you have given us an example in your son Jesus in His ability to love much. Help us, Lord, to love much those you have put in our lives. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Lord, help us not to be fixating on trying to prolong our lives here. Let us pursue healthy living and life every day for You to the fullest, but also, let us not be afraid of death. Let us know that we have eternal life waiting for us.

Thank You for not judging us by our outward appearance, but You see our true selves and our hearts. I pray that we would let others see our true heart for You in all that we do. Help us to look beyond the surface and see others as you see them.

Lord, I pray that You would help us build up our trust in You, that You know what You are building in our lives. Help us to rejoice in whatever season we are in, whether the building is still going on or finished.

Dear Jesus, thank you so much for the richness of your scripture; the way that each single verse can teach us so much about you and ourselves. Thank you for your great mercy and saving us as sinners and for conquering death so that one day we too...

Dear Jesus, thank You that You don't require us to worship in a certain house, and we don't have to spend all of our money building You a temple or a place where we can worship You. Thank You that You meet us where we are, no matter where that is....

Lord, thank you for these Old Testament verses that remind us so clearly how You keep Your promises, how You're sovereign over all, and how You give us the hope of a new beginning in You.

Dear Father, thank You that You gave us Your word. Thank You for guiding these men to write down the things that happened and what Jesus did and said. That is what we need to know Jesus, to know You, and to grow in our faith.
