Heavenly Father, oh how grateful I am for the privilege of being able to come to you in prayer. May I never take for granted the ability to have a personal relationship with you through faith in your Son, Jesus Christ.
Laura Bailey once wondered whether her candid conversations with God were irreverent until she encountered the prophet Habakkuk's remarkably transparent prayers. Beginning with Habakkuk 1:2 and the prophet's cry of “How long, Lord?”, this devotional explores what Scripture teaches about bringing our real emotions, questions, struggles, and praise before God. Rather than offering polished words we think God wants to hear, we're invited into honest and reverent prayer with the One who already knows our thoughts and words.

Laura holds a certificate in Biblical Women's Studies from SEBTS and serves as a workplace chaplain and the director of women’s ministries at her church.
