Chris Tomlin’s Powerful Live Rendition of ‘The First Hymn’ Will Stir Your Soul from Chris Tomlin on GodTube.

If not for God’s love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace, we’d all still be lost and living in sin and shame. There would be no possibility of heaven. We’d be staring down an eternity forever separated from Him, one full of weeping and gnashing of teeth.

But Christ made that ultimate sacrifice. As the book of Romans states, while we were still sinners, He showed His immense and unyielding love for us by dying. He willingly went to the cross, suffered and died, and later rose again for you and me. He endured all that suffering and humiliation because He thought you and I were worth it.

His love and forgiveness are still available to all who call upon His name. He stands at the door and knocks.

Praise His name! For He alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. That is precisely what Chris sings with his tune, “The First Hymn.” It’s a song praising and worshipping the Lord for all He has done.

“All powers cry out in answer
All glory and praise forever
To our God
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit”

What beautiful lyrics!

The short clip is powerful and moving, not only because of Chris’s performance but also because the video shows a stadium full of people praising the Lord and singing along. They are singing to and praising the one true and risen King! How could you not be moved and touched by seeing such a sight?

Hebrews 13:15 “Let us then make offerings of praise to God at all times through him, that is to say, the fruit of lips giving witness to his name.”
