Mom Stuns with ‘Jesus, Take The Wheel’ as Her Son Falls Asleep in Carrie Underwood’s Arms

One mother stunned the judges with “Jesus, Take the Wheel” as her adorable son fell asleep in Carrie Underwood’s arms. Brenna Nix, a stay-at-home mom, showed the three judges what she could do with a powerful rendition of the Carrie...

Those who audition on shows like The VoiceAmerica’s Got Talent and American Idol come from all walks of life. While everyone has a different story and background, they are all looking for their chance to make their dream a reality. That was precisely what Breanna wanted to do when she went before Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Carrie.

As Brenna enters the room, she is escorted by her precious little boy, Emerson. The little guy looks as if he had just woken up moments ago. Once Mom takes her spot in front of the judges, Emerson sits in Carrie’s lap. At that point, Breanna announces that she’ll be singing “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” a Carrie Underwood tune. It's always a bold move to sing someone else’s song in front of them.

Before she starts singing, Brenna says she’s “just a stay-at-home mom,” and Carrie quickly corrects her. “Never say, ‘I’m just a stay-at-home mom,’ like that’s such a, you have the most important job,” Carrie says.

It’s time for Breanna to show the judges what she’s got. Breanna has a beautiful voice, which she shows during her spectacular audition, and the judges all agree.

However, the cutest part of the entire audition is that Emerson’s eyes become heavier and heavier. He eventually loses his battle with sleep and nods off as his mother sings.

While this clip does not show it, Brenna did receive three yes votes and is now on her way to Hollywood to continue showing if she has what it takes to become the next American Idol.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
