Powerhouse Vocalist Turns All 4 Judges In A Matter Of Seconds With Elton John Cover

  • Updated Oct 09, 2023

Everyone who goes on shows like American Idol, The Voice and America’s Got Talent hopes to impress the judges and the studio audience enough to move on to the next round of the competition. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case, and some don’t go any further than their first audition on those programs. However, there are rare occurrences when the talent on the stage blows away all the judges.

Mara Justine’s audition blind audition on The Voice was one of those special and scarce instances. Her beautiful voice and abundance of musical talent actually had all four judges – Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Reba McEntire - fighting one another over her.

The 21-year-old New Jersey native gets seconds into her audition, gets the first few words out and two judges – Gwen and John – have decided they’ve heard enough and turn their chairs for her.

But that’s not all. Seconds later, Gwen and John are followed by Reba, who is also massively impressed by the young woman’s outstanding vocal performance. Niall is a bit more cautious, hitting his button to flip his chair around approximately 10 seconds after Reba.

However, after the young woman finishes wowing the judges and the studio audience with her spectacular rendition of the Elton John hit, the judges pull out all the stops. They all want her on their team.

Niall gave the young woman a tremendous compliment, stating that he cannot wait to see what else she’ll be able to do in the competition.

“Like, someone that’s willing to go into the first round with an Elton John song and sing it like that takes something,” Niall said. “If this is where you’ve set the bar, what are we going to see from you down the line? America’s going to fall in love with that voice.”
