A year can begin with so many expectations.

We make plans, choose goals, write prayers, and imagine where we hope to be by the time another year comes to an end.

But somewhere along the way, life often changes the plan.

A door remains closed longer than expected.

A relationship takes an unexpected turn.

A financial concern develops.

A goal loses momentum.

A prayer remains unanswered.

Looking at the months still ahead may leave you feeling motivated—or deeply uncertain.

You may wonder whether there is enough time to accomplish what you hoped to do. You may fear that the rest of the year will repeat the struggles of the months behind you. Perhaps you are already trying to anticipate every problem so nothing catches you unprepared.

But the future was never yours to control.

It was always yours to entrust to God.

He does not ask you to know exactly how the year will end. He asks you to walk closely with Him through the day directly in front of you.

Tonight, you can release the pressure to manage every remaining month and trust the One who is already there.
