A Rest For Your Soul-Part 5
May 23, 2014
Self-centeredness causes a lot of the inner conflict we have in our lives. When Jesus was on the cross, He took our self-centered nature, the old man, the flesh, to the cross and He crucified it there. We see this in Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” You see, you and I, upon salvation are free from the initial burden of sin, we are saved, we are born again…born from above…we have a home in heaven. But, as a child of God there is the burden of self, which is called the flesh, that part of us that wants to have its own way. That part that says, I want you God, and this world’s system, and we are torn between the two. My friend, there is even freedom from this and it comes with surrender. You see, the greatest thing, once we become a child of God is for us to learn that we are in Christ and Christ is in us. John 8:32 tell us this fact, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” And in John 8:36 – “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Walk in the victory that you have in Christ Jesus!
