Choices - Sunday, August 19th 2012

Romans 9:17

"For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth."
NKJV

Our decisions can lead to good things or they can lead to bad things. Now, you probably think that I'm about to make an appeal for any non-believer reading this message to accept Jesus. Well, in a way I am, but in a roundabout kind of way. You see, I'm writing specifically to you, Christian, because the choices you make may determine whether or not someone else chooses to accept Jesus. Do you speak to others about Jesus? That's an obvious way that your choices can influence decisions for Christ. We can never know how far our choices in the form of words or actions travel. If you have children, you may have already learned this. If you don't have children, ask someone who does.

The book of James tells us that the words we consider to be of little consequence have the power to destroy and that our actions are the showcase of our faith. Take a moment and think of the people in your life who don't know Jesus. What part are your words or your actions playing in the choice they are making?

Life Lesson: God wants to reveal Himself through us to the world.

Dear Father,
Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Lord, help my choices and my actions influence others to know Jesus. Please forgive me for times when I've been careless in my choices, words or actions. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
Pastor David McGee
