Super Youth - Friday, August 31st 2012
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
When people think of today's youth, they automatically think the worst. We often hear words like "lazy" and "apathetic" used to describe the young people of our day, but we must be careful not to place everyone in those categories. While every generation has its issues, there are students all around the world who are passionate about the Lord and desire to serve Him with their lives.
If you are one of those young people, I encourage you to seek the Lord with all the energy you have. As a young follower of Christ, you have many years to continue learning, serving and sharing Christ with countless friends and classmates. Do not let the world look down on you because of your age but instead use the benefits of youth to ignite others for Christ. With God's power, you could be the next Timothy, set apart for ministering to churches all over the world.
Parents and other adults, let's not sell our kids short but rather encourage and challenge them to walk with Jesus daily. As leaders in our households, we have the power to fan the flame of God's Spirit in our children or to snuff it out with low expectation or lack of leadership. Together, we can see the next generation bring revival to a world that desperately needs it.
Life Lesson: God's Spirit teamed with passionate youth equals world-changing potential.
Thank You for the many young people who are living to serve You. God, fill them with Your Spirit and equip them with Your Word so that they will be ready to follow You for a lifetime. Father, use me to be a blessing to the students around me. Use us all for the benefit of Your Kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
Pastor David McGee
