A Single Message - Saturday, March 2nd 2013

Hosea 14:2

"Take words with you, And return to the LORD. Say to Him, "Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips."
NKJV

Throughout the entire Bible, there is a single powerful message. It's a message of hope and forgiveness. It's a message that may hurt at first but then comes with healing in its wings.

What's the message? It's simply this, "You have sinned, but God can save."

We saw this message in the garden with Adam and Eve. God cursed them and the earth because of sin but in the midst of the cursing is a promise of One who would come and destroy sin and death. It continued with the life of Abraham. God took an unknown man from Ur and set him apart to be a mighty nation whose descendants would bless the world. Why did God do this? He did so because of His great love. Later in the Bible, we see an even more detailed picture in the life of Moses who was called to deliver God's people from Egypt. God's people did not truly deserve saving, but God did it anyway because of His love for them. Finally, all these shadows and pictures come together in one person, the God/Man Jesus Christ. He came to live the perfect life we could not so that he could die as the spotless Lamb of God. It was His sacrifice that paid for our salvation. We had sinned. Jesus has saved. It's a simple message and yet still profound. Do you believe this message of hope? Have you trusted in Jesus as your Savior? If so, then rejoice because you have experienced the life-changing love of God. If not, find out more about God's Plan here.

Life Lesson: The single message of scripture is "You are a great sinner, but God is a greater Savior.

Dear God,
Thank You for Your amazing love. Thank You for Jesus and His sacrifice. Open my eyes more and more to this single message of salvation and fill me with Your Spirit so that I can share this Good News with the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
Pastor David McGee
