Release the Trinket - Monday, October 17th 2016

God's promises can become greater than your pain... today.

It seems when we hold grudges, we do just that... we hold grudges. When we 'hold' grudges, we can hold little else. We can't really worship Jesus as Lord like that because He told us to forgive people. We can't be disobedient about forgiveness and say He is our Lord. We have to let go of the grudge, so we are free to worship God.

What about you? Has your pain become louder than your promise? Then turn down the volume on your pain, by forgiving others, and not 'holding grudges' and turn up the volume on the promises of God.

There are awesome promises in the Bible, like:

Rev 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." NKJV

Read the promises, believe the promises.

I find this interesting. One way people trap monkeys is to hollow out a coconut and put a little trinket inside.

When the monkey finds the trinket in the coconut, he grabs it, and closes his hand tight. But the monkey can't pull his hand out while still holding the trinket.

The hunter approaches with a net or club, and the monkey still holds the trinket, stuck in the coconut. The monkey tries to get his hand free but can't if he doesn't open his hand... and he continues to hold the worthless trinket as the hunter takes his life.

If we hold on to unforgiveness, it is a trap which will cause spiritual death. Jesus said you must forgive others, even as your Heavenly Father has forgiven you.

Jesus told us that if you don't forgive others, you won't be forgiven (Matthew 6:14-15).

So today... turn down the pain, turn up the promise. Let go of the grudges, the hurts, the wrongs and hold onto the precious promises of God instead.

Ephesians 4:31-32
31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
NKJV

Be encouraged even in very hard times....

>Luke 21:28 When these things start to happen, stand up and hold your heads high; because you are about to be liberated!" CJB

Life Lesson: There is hope for you, there is hope for anybody in Jesus.

Father, I thank you for your faithful promises to me and I ask that you would help me to let go of worthless bitterness, grudges and unforgiveness. I choose to obey You and forgive as you have forgiven me. Please bring my thoughts and emotions into alignment with my decision to let go of those things and instead to hold tightly to your promises. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
