You can receive these gifts from Christ today

“You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving.”– Robert Louis Stephenson

There's just something about that sound of presents being unwrapped, isn't there? That crinkling sound of paper being torn and wadded up, the “pop” of a box springing open.

Yeah, they’re some of the great sounds at Christmas. But within an hour or two, the sound goes silent. Not so with the gifts that Christ gives. His gifts keep giving over and over as long as you are willing to unwrap them each day.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”– 1 Corinthians 1:30-31

My mother-in-law defines wisdom this way: “Wisdom is seeing things from God's perspective.” Because He has placed you in Jesus Christ, Christ has actually “become for us wisdom from God.” That’s a HUGE gift, and it is continually offered to you every day.

And righteousness? Righteousness is the undeserved right to stand before God. You don't deserve it, but the moment that you trust Jesus, and Jesus alone, to save you, you are declared righteous before God. What a gift! You can't earn that anywhere. No amount of money allows you to buy it.No amount of poverty can hinder you from taking it.

Christ’s gifts truly keep on giving now and into eternity. And you can change the focus of your day when you see these incredible gifts for what they are.

Dear God, my heart boasts in what You have done! Thank You for the gifts that You have given me by placing me “in Christ Jesus.” Thank You for making Christ my wisdom! And thank You for the gift of righteousness that allows me to be immersed in Your presence every moment of every day. Amen.
