Working for the Wicked
by Rick Boxx
January 6, 2010

A friend called with a dilemma. Her company had just received an opportunity to do business with a cult that leads people away from Jesus' teachings.

Her question was, "Should I decline the work?" These are difficult decisions, but what shaped my opinion was the fact that my friend's service was going to be instrumental in promoting the mission of this cult.

In 2 Chronicles 19 King Jehoshaphat had just returned from helping the wicked king of Israel in battle. In verse 2 we read, "Jehu the seer, the son of Hanani, went out to meet him and said to the king, ‘Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, the wrath of the Lord is upon you."

My recommendation was to decline the work.
