Healthy Fear
By: Rick Boxx

A key distinction between the world’s view on integrity and the biblical view is the fear of God. Francis Chan in a video on “Fearing God” noted it’s much easier to water down the concept and talk about awe and reverence, instead of the trembling many had in the presence of the Almighty.

I’ve been guilty at times of watering down the message, due to people’s displeasure with the subject. As Francis Chan notes, however, anyone in scripture who came into the presence of God became terrified of His power and holiness.

In Ecclesiastes 12:13 Solomon taught, “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

When tempted to do something wrong at work, it’s helpful to remember to fear the One who knows all.
