Revelation 13:15-14:5 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed...
think about it.
The second beast outranks the first; what does he do to exercise his power (13:12-17)? What is the contrasting "mark" on the 144,000 faithful (14:1)? What else distinguishes these faithful ones? How does 14:1-5 offer hope in the face of 13:1-18?
As we start into Revelation 14, once again we see the 144,000 who are "servants of God . . .sealed from every tribe of Israel" (Rev. 7:3-4). John describes the activity of these people and then gives us a little information about them--they are redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb, they follow the Lamb wherever he goes, they have kept themselves sexually pure, and they are blameless in their speech (vs. 4-5). What a picture of dedication! It prompted me to take a look at my own dedication. How often and how much time am I spending in God's Word? What am I doing with my time in general? What things are capturing my heart and thoughts? How am I spending my money?
So on a dedication scale of 1-10 (1 being low and 10 being high) where are you at? And what's it going to take (what are some things we can do) for us to keep moving up the scale closer to that 10? Tami W.
