Lift Me Up
Psalm 75:1-10 We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds...
think about it.
What do you learn here about God's judgment? Why is this a matter for thank or praise on the side of the psalmist?
The primary message or theme of Psalm 75 is one of God judging with fairness ("with equity" vs. 2). But mixed in throughout this theme and verses I also picked up pretty clearly the message that God is most certainly in control (see vs. 2, 3 & 7). So even though we can fall into thinking that we're pretty powerful (vs. 4-6), really, it's not about us or our power at all.
So how can we draw on Psalm 75 to help us keep the right perspective so we can be empowered by God (not ourselves) and be "lifted up" by Him (vs. 10)? Tami W.
