Do A Look Back
Nehemiah 9:15-38 You gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and brought water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and you told them to go in to possess the land that you had sworn to give them...
A big part of this gathering where the people confessed their sin and worshipped in Nehemiah 9 was a time of looking back and a public recalling of the history between God and the Israelites. And when we get to the end of chapter 9, we see that this approach was good and effective. The people respond by agreeing to obey God. “Because of all this we make a firm covenant in writing; on the sealed document are the names of our princes, our Levites, and our priests" (vs. 38).
So how about joining the Israelites today? Take some time to look back and consider your history with God. What did you see, or maybe discover? How can you use your history to grow your relationship with Him moving forward? Tami W.
