We Can Make It

today's reading.

the blog.
Prolonged and severe hardship seems to be the backdrop and setting of Psalm 129. Having grown up in farm country, I actually cringed when I read "The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows" (vs. 3). What a vivid description of suffering. It's pretty clear that life is not at all rosy for the psalmist, yet his next words declare the Lord's righteousness (vs. 4). All I can say is--wow.
