On Our Side

today's reading.
Judges 7:16-25     And he divided the 300 men into three companies and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars...
Judges 7:16-25

think about it.
What part does Gideon and his army play in this battle (7:16-22)? What part does God have (7:21-22)? What battles have you seen God fight on your behalf?

the blog.
The routing of the Midianites by Gideon and his tiny band of faithful men has to be one of the most impressive battles in the Bible. The weapons of choice for Gideon's group are almost laughable if we didn't know the outcome--trumpets, smashed jars and torches. I just love the unique and creative ways God works on our behalf and how He reveals himself to us.

What encouragement can we draw from Judges 7:16-25? How might we use this passage when it comes to battles we're facing or simply our work and service for the Lord? Tami W.
