Your Manna Ministry - Monday, April 1st 2013
2 Corinthians 8:15
"As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack."
When the Israelites were in the wilderness, God made a cool way of providing for them. Each morning, the people of God would get up and find "manna" all over the ground. They were commanded to collect only the amount of manna they needed for the day because God would be faithful to provide more the next day. The only time they saved more was on Friday so they would not have to work on the Sabbath. Each day, God provided what was needed. This was their "daily bread".
The same is true with each of us. God will provide for our needs, but He does not want us to hoard away our money or possessions. Instead, God calls us to use our resources for others. The money we earn through our jobs can be used to provide a hot meal to the homeless, take the Gospel to China or help the church doors remain open. We don't need to worry about whether God will take care of us. All we need to "worry" about is how we can use our money to bless others. The Bible says one of the greatest uses of our resources is our families and the household of believers. How are you using your money to bless others? Are you afraid if you give away money you'll run out? Friend, God owns it all, and He desires to show you just how awesome a provider He is, if only you'll trust Him.
Life Lesson: God will meet our needs as we help to meet the needs of others.
I thank You for the way You care for my needs. Help me to take that step of faith and begin using my money and resources to bless others. Give me the power to trust You more and to change the lives of those around me with my gifts. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
