Inviting or Distracting - Tuesday, January 17th 2017

20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.
NKJV

The enemy is constantly at work to distract, divide, steal, kill, and destroy. Often his tactics are more subtle than they are out right scary. We see in the beginning God creating mankind distinctly making them male and female, then establishing them in marriage, from which a family is born. The enemy is attacking on all these fronts today even now to the point of creating gender confusion in people's minds. How do we push back against these attacks? When do we begin to recognize these tactics that are distracting us from the Lord? We see a picture of the distractions in the parable Jesus teaches here:

Matt 22:2-5
"2 The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding."' 5 But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, and another to his business."
NKJV

The people who were invited made light of the King's invitation to the feast. They missed out on the kingdom because they made light of it. Not necessarily to be fully engaged in debauchery, but for the same practical reasons we might be missing out on the kingdom in our life today.

Friend it is perfectly fine to be hardworking, involved in family life, and a proper balance in these things. But our priorities are in the wrong place if we aren't consistently connected to the Lord first in fellowship of the church, serving, praying, and giving consistently - faithful in the things of the kingdom of Christ. Could it be that the depression you've been experiencing, the problems in your marriage or relationships, and the financial struggles in your budgeting are a result of not feasting in the kingdom of the Lord and His promises?

Today is a great day to repent, rethink, reconsider, reprioritize, your direction toward Christ so that times of refreshing, resurgence, revitalizing, regeneration and resurrection power from God's Spirit will fall anew upon your heart and life. His invitation to the kingdom feast is being offered to you now, will you respond?

Life Lesson: When a city, leader, or people choose right, God helps remove the evil in a society. When a city, leader, or people choose wrong, God allows evil to grow and be put in charge.

Lord,
Please forgive me when I have not prioritized the things of Your kingdom first in my life. Lord help me to continue to stay committed to continually receiving from you the heavenly feast of the kingdom allowing a renewal of my commitment to be the Bride of Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
