Thoughts for the Day

Anger is often misunderstood. Many people see it as something to avoid or suppress, but anger itself is not the problem. It is a natural response—a signal that something within us or around us is not right.

The real question is not whether we feel anger, but how we respond to it.

Too often, we try to ignore or minimize what we feel. We say, “I’m fine,” when inside we are frustrated, hurt, or overwhelmed. But unacknowledged anger doesn’t disappear—it finds other ways to surface, often in ways that harm our relationships and our peace.

God invites us into honesty. He is not asking us to pretend we don’t feel anger—He is inviting us to bring it to Him so He can transform it.

When we begin to recognize what’s happening within us, we take the first step toward freedom.

Consider This . . .

Take a few quiet moments today and ask yourself: Where is anger showing up in my life right now?

Is it connected to a situation that feels unfair? A relationship that feels strained? A burden that feels too heavy?

Don’t rush past this. Sit with it.

Anger often points to something deeper—hurt, disappointment, fear, or unmet expectations. Ask God to help you see what’s beneath the surface.

Write it down if it helps. Name it honestly.

You don’t have to fix it today. You simply need to acknowledge it. When you bring your anger into the light, you open the door for God to begin His work in your heart.

Prayer

Lord, help me to be honest about what I feel. Show me what’s beneath my anger and give me the courage to bring it to You.

In Jesus’ name…
