Thoughts for the Day
Life can be painfully unfair. Some people grow up in nurturing homes with encouragement and support, while others experience neglect, abuse, loss, or instability. None of us get to choose the circumstances into which we are born, yet all of us must live with their impact.
Pain has a way of shaping us. It influences how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we view God. If we are not careful, painful experiences can convince us that we are alone, damaged beyond repair, or destined to struggle forever.
But Scripture reminds us that hardship does not mean abandonment. God has never turned His back on humanity—even after the world became broken and dangerous. He walks with us through the valleys, not just when we reach the mountaintops.
God does not minimize our pain, but He also does not waste it. He meets us in our suffering and offers presence, guidance, and hope for something better ahead.
Consider This . . .
You may not be responsible for the pain that entered your life, but you are not alone in it. God walks with you through every dark valley. Healing often begins when we acknowledge our pain honestly and invite God into it rather than carrying it by ourselves.
God, You know the valleys I’ve walked through and the pain I still carry. Help me trust that You are with me even here. Give me courage to bring my hurt into the light and to believe that You are working for my good.
In Jesus’ name…
