Thoughts for the Day
Not all community leads to freedom—but Christ-centered community does.
It is possible to gather people together, share openly, and still miss true transformation if Christ is not at the center. Living Free makes it clear: the focus must always remain on Jesus, not the facilitator, not the group, and not human wisdom.
Why? Because only Christ has the power to bring lasting change.
When we center our lives and relationships around Jesus:
His Word brings truth that exposes lies
His Spirit brings conviction and healing
His presence brings peace and restoration
Without Him, we may feel temporarily better—but we won’t be truly free.
A Christ-centered community continually points people back to Him. It reminds us that we are not the source of change—He is. Our role is simply to remain connected to Him and help others do the same.
As each person moves closer to Christ, something beautiful happens—the group grows closer together as well. Unity flows from a shared connection to Him.
Freedom is not found in people alone. It is found in Christ, experienced through people.
Consider This . . .
What tends to take the center of your life when you are stressed, overwhelmed, or discouraged (control, approval, performance, comfort)?
Are your current relationships helping you grow closer to Christ or pulling your focus away from Him?
In your conversations with others, how often do you naturally point back to God’s truth versus your own opinions?
Are you relying more on your own strength or intentionally depending on Christ daily?
What spiritual practices (prayer, Scripture, worship) help you stay connected to Jesus—and are they consistent in your life?
How would your relationships change if Christ were clearly the center of every interaction?
What is one intentional step you can take today to realign your focus on Christ?
Jesus, You are the source of life and freedom. Help me stay connected to You in every area of my life. Keep me from relying on my own strength or the approval of others. Let everything I do point back to You.
