Scripture

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally… whatever is true… noble… right… pure… lovely… admirable… think about such things.”

Philippians 4:6–8

Thoughts for the Day

Fear may show up—but it doesn’t have to stay.

God doesn’t just tell us to stop being anxious—He shows us what to do instead.

“Do not be anxious about anything…”

That’s the invitation.

“…but in every situation… present your requests to God.”

That’s the pathway.

Fear holds on.

Faith releases.

Fear replays the problem.

Faith brings it to God.

And this isn’t a one-time moment—it’s a daily, sometimes hourly, decision.

You may bring the same fear to God more than once today. That doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re learning to trust.

And then comes the promise:

“The peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds…”

Not just comfort you—guard you.

Like a shield over your emotions.

Like protection over your thoughts.

Peace becomes your defense when prayer becomes your response.

Consider This . . .

What are you holding onto right now that God is asking you to release?

Fear often sounds like:

“I need to figure this out.”

“I need to control this.”

“I can’t let this go.”

But faith says:

“I trust You with this.”

“I give this to You again.”

“I don’t have to carry this alone.”

And then there’s one more step:

“Think about such things…”

What you focus on matters.

You can’t dwell on fear and expect to experience peace.

But when you intentionally redirect your thoughts toward truth—peace begins to take root.

Today, practice this rhythm:

Pray honestly

Release completely

Refocus intentionally

That’s how faith becomes your way of living—not just something you talk about.

Prayer

Lord,

You know how easily I hold onto things I was never meant to carry. Today, I choose to bring everything to You—my worries, my fears, and my concerns.

Teach me to release them, not just once, but continually. When anxious thoughts return, remind me to come back to You again instead of trying to manage them on my own.

Guard my heart and my mind with Your peace. Help me to focus on what is true and right, and not be consumed by fear.

I choose to trust You today. In Jesus' name . . .
