Scripture

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Ephesians 5:21-25 NIV

Thoughts for the Day

Christlike commitment is rooted in humility. It is not selfish, controlling, demanding, or harsh. It is shaped by reverence for Christ and expressed through sacrificial love.

In relationships, it is easy to focus on what the other person should do. But God calls each of us to examine our own hearts. Am I loving faithfully? Am I serving humbly? Am I honoring Christ in the way I treat this person?

Marriage is more than a feeling or a legal agreement. It is a covenant that calls for love, sacrifice, respect, forgiveness, and faithfulness. Christ shows us what committed love looks like: He gave Himself for us.

Consider this …

Christlike commitment asks, “How can I honor God in the way I love?” It does not seek control. It seeks faithfulness. It does not demand its own way. It chooses humility, grace, and sacrificial love.

Prayer

Jesus, teach me to love with humility and commitment. Help me honor You in my relationships. Remove selfishness from my heart and shape my love to reflect Your faithfulness, grace, and sacrifice.

In Jesus' name. . .
