Scripture
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14 NIV

Thoughts for the Day
Learning to handle anger is about more than controlling our reactions. It's about developing godly character.

There will always be difficult people, stressful days, misunderstandings, and disappointments. Becoming a peaceful person doesn't mean these things stop affecting us. It means they no longer have to control us.

As Christ changes us, we become quicker to listen, slower to react, more willing to forgive, and better able to address problems without attacking people.

Peace gradually becomes more than something we seek. It becomes part of who we are becoming.

Consider This . . .
Ask yourself: What kind of person am I becoming when life doesn't go my way?

Don't measure growth by whether you ever feel angry. Notice whether you're recognizing anger sooner, pausing before reacting, listening more carefully, apologizing more quickly, and forgiving more freely.

The goal isn't simply less anger. The goal is becoming more like Christ.

Prayer
Father, develop Your character in me. Make me patient, compassionate, wise, and peaceful. Help me carry Your peace into every relationship and situation. In Jesus’ name…
