You Are Appointed to Be an Ambassador - Love Worth Finding - October 6

October 6, 2024 – You Are Appointed to Be an Ambassador
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Sermon: 2483 The Soul Winner’s Six Mighty Motivations, Part 2

Pray Over This

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Ponder This

We’ve been reconciled by Calvary. God has brought us to Himself. However, God did not save you simply to sit, but to serve. We have been reconciled. Therefore, it follows that we have been given a ministry of reconciliation; that is, to help people be reconciled to God. In this verse, Paul says we are appointed as Heaven’s ambassadors. And an ambassador is somebody who represents a ruler in another’s court or country.

You say, “Well, I don’t have much education. I don’t have any money.” You are still an ambassador! Can you get any higher than being an ambassador to the King of kings? You are somebody. God Himself has appointed you. And if you’re not interested in being an ambassador when you have been appointed as an ambassador, you are guilty of treason against Heaven’s King. To refuse is not only to be ineffective but also to be in revolt.

If you received a thousand dollars cash for every soul you led to Christ, would it make a difference in your life? It would get you moving; it would motivate you. You need that motivation not for money but because you share the same motivation as Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:9, and you can say, “I do this so that I might please Him.”

  • How do you currently represent Christ in the things you do every day?
  • How could you grow in representing Him? Explain.

Practice This

Serve someone or extend love to someone today in a Christ-like way, as an ambassador of Christ.
