Accountability Partner

Today's reading: 2 Corinthians 7:2-16

There's nothing quite like having an accountability partner, someone who will walk along with you to offer encouragement but who also isn't afraid to call you out when they see you going down a wrong path or making a mess of a situation. In 2 Corinthians 7, Paul is acting as an accountability partner to the Corinthians through the letter he had sent previously that "grieved" the Corinthians and led to their repenting.

"For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it--though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while. As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us" (vs. 8-9).

What are some of the benefits you've experienced from having a brother or sister in Christ as an accountability partner? If you don't currently have someone to walk along with you, is there someone you can ask to fill this role, or can you ask someone in leadership at your church to help connect you with another believer?
