The Spirit of God

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. - 1 Corinthians 2:12

Through the Spirit of God, we can understand God’s Word. When we study and read the Bible, we are not left ignorant. Why? God has revealed the meaning to us. Then we are able to give His Word to other people. How marvelous!

Understand, theology is the study of God. How many of us have studied in-depth the basic doctrines of the Bible? In order for us to be good students of God’s Word, we need to know what we believe theologically.

2 Timothy 2:15 tells us:  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We really need to know and understand what we are sharing with others.

Christians should know that God sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so we can be redeemed through His atonement. As believers, we need to understand that we are justified by faith. Then, when we die and stand in the presence of God, we will be glorified, with a new body, having a new heart and mind.

When you are born again, you become a new creature by the power of God’s Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 5:17).  It is really important that people see the change in your attitude and character. They should see the difference in the way you speak. Then, over a period of time, others in your family, friends and co-workers will believe the Gospel, because they will see the change.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
~2 Corinthians 3:18~
