Matthew 7:7-11

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

God loves to answer the prayers of His children!

Do you expect God to answer your prayers? If not, then why do you pray? Because it is expected of you? Because prayer is something that Christians do? Because prayer is a part of your quiet time? Because people should pray before meals? None of these are valid reasons for prayer. Jesus is telling us today that the best reason to pray is because of the grace in God’s heart.

God is a cheerful giver. He is a good Father that loves to respond to His children’s requests. And as a good Father He will only give you what He knows is for your good. Are you confident in asking your Father to give you good gifts?
