Just Do It
Mark 11:25 (NIV®)
“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Forgiveness is the act of setting someone free from an obligation they may owe you. You may feel they owe you an apology or restitution, or maybe you would like an explanation. It’s typically the result of a wrong done against you. The Bible has a lot to say about forgiveness, and perhaps the best news is that it can be achieved quickly. Sometimes we have to walk through a shadowed valley. Sometimes we need to be still and know that the Lord is God. But with forgiveness the message is “Just do it!” Don’t stop to pray about it or collect the evidence. If unforgiveness and bitterness and hatred and resentment have held you in emotional bondage, choose to forgive. And when you forgive others, God will forgive you.
Heavenly Father, I repent for all my sins and ask You to forgive me. I thank You that You forgive me. In obedience, I choose to forgive all who have wronged me. I cancel the debt they owe me and lay down all bitterness, resentment, and hatred. I ask that You would bless them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
