Authority as if a Scepter - Warrior Mom Wisdom - Week of March 30

Warrior Mom Wisdom Devotional

Authority as if a Scepter

I walked around for years not fully understanding who I was: a daughter of The Most High King. I have discovered a Truth about our identities as children of God that I pray changes your mind about who you are and subsequently revolutionizes how you impact the world for the cause of Christ.

Deuteronomy 4:24 reads:

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire; a jealous God.

And

Hebrews 12:20 reads:

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptable with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

God is a “fire” – so it makes sense that his servants are referred to as flames of fire.  Hebrews 1:7-8 reads:

He makes his angels winds – his servants flames of fire, but about the son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.”

He who is coming will come and will not delay, but my righteous one will live by faith and if they shrink back he will not be well pleased with him. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved!

Hebrews 10:38-39

The righteous (God’s children on this earth) are to live by faith, as flames of fire – they represent the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.

Hebrews 1:8

We are to walk on this earth with the authority of Christ. Christ is righteous.

The definition of righteous is: acting or being in accordance with what is just or moral, and moral is conforming to a standard of right behavior.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:14-16

It is in the righteousness of Christ, who has been deposited within us as an eternal guarantee, through which we walk. Christ has all authority.

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though god were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, to that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Each step you take today is a representation of the Kingdom within you. Walk confidently in Christ.
