A Living Sacrifice
Dr. Randy White

“But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24,)

The Apostle Paul, sensing that his life was drawing to a close due to the coming danger, never stepped back to play it safe.  He easily could have retired to a quiet life, written a few books, and likely kept his life.  But he didn’t!

If Paul had considered his life to be of some value, he would have placed life over the preaching of the Gospel.  Life for Paul, however, was just “the icing on the cake.”  “For me to live is Christ,” he said, “and to die is gain.”  He was given ministry, and he was going to finish it, knowing that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).  Because he was convinced that his life was according to God’s purpose, he was confident that God would protect him until the purpose was fulfilled.

Don’t play it safe today.  When you have nothing to lose, you become the instrument God can use!

In His Grace,
Dr. Randy White
