Apologist Wes Huff Defends Biblical Truth on Secular Comedy Podcast

Christian apologist Wes Huff appeared on the "Flagrant" podcast with comedian Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh this week. He elaborated on the gospel and the exclusivity of Jesus Christ in salvation.
"When you stand before the judgment throne, you're either going to take the penalty you deserve, or you're going to be covered in the righteousness of Christ, and that penalty is on him," Huff explained.
His remarks came as one of the participants asked whether non-Christians can go to Heaven, Church Leaders reported.

"I would say, God is not going to force anyone into heaven," Huff replied, "in that heaven—remember, once again heaven is not the final destination…Essentially, 'No one comes to the Father but through me,' Jesus says."
He also quoted the late Christian author C.S. Lewis, "Hell is locked from the inside."
"I would say that if you have spent your life not living out a life that is what Jesus has called you to do, to be, then Jesus is not going to force you into His presence," Huff added.
"Hell is God saying, 'Thy will be done.' So what you want in your life by rejecting Christ is what you're going to get in the afterlife."
He also explained how Christianity is both inclusive and exclusive.
"Christianity is inclusivistic in that all are called to come. But it is exclusivistic in that Jesus loves you and calls you to come as you are, but he loves you too much to leave you where you are."
The conversation, which lasted more than three hours, touched on a variety of topics, including Bible theology and how Christianity compares to other religions. At the start of the interview, Schulz described Huff as "the most bodaciously brolic Bible expert you've ever seen " and "a true man of God."
According to The Christian Post, Schulz asked Huff whether someone must consider themselves "a piece of s---" before recognizing their need for Christ.
"So I think the answer is that we are both worse than we realize and have the potential to do much more good than we realize. However, I am not going to Heaven because of anything I've done. I can't do that," Huff replied. "It's not about what I'm doing. It's about what Jesus did."
"So, in one sense, you're more of a piece of s--- than you could imagine, but also, you're more loved and more capable of amazing things than you could imagine," Huff said. "And that's the dichotomy of Christianity."
Huff, who serves as the Central Canada Director for Apologetics Canada, went viral following his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast in January of this year, months after a viral debate with author and television personality Billy Carson last October.
He has also been a contributing writer to The Gospel Coalition Canada and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in New Testament at the University of Toronto's Wycliffe College. Huff's YouTube channel dives into topics such as discussing theology, apologetics, and Christian archaeology.
