Christian Leaders React to Israel’s Attack on Iran and US Response

Several pastors issued their reactions following coordinated strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites Saturday by the United States. On Saturday, President Donald Trump addressed the nation, confirming that three B-12 Tomahawk missiles were launched from U.S. submarines.

Evangelist and founder of Harvest Christian Fellowship Greg Laurie believes that U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear sites are more of a "foreshadowing" than a fulfillment of a biblical prophecy.

"Is this a fulfillment of Bible prophecy? I would say it's maybe more of a foreshadowing than a fulfillment. Let me explain," he said in a video post.

"So we know with certainty, regardless of who Magog is, we know Persia will one day march against Israel," he said. "We see the alignment of Russia and Persia. We see the ongoing hostility between Iran and Israel. So it's a cause for great prayer."

Regardless of political uncertainty, Laurie urged Christians to "pray for God's protection around the United States of America and pray for God's protection for Israel and pray that they find some kind of resolution soon and pray that God gives to our president wisdom as he makes these decisions that affect so many people."

Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, addressed the matter on X and asked for prayers for the nation, President Trump, and Israel.

"Also, pray for Israel today as they continue to receive missile attacks. President Trump cited that Iran has long said, "Death to America" and "Death to Israel." Their hate is real," he wrote."Peace through strength is a true statement, but we must remember that God is our strength and ask for His help and direction."

In a statement shared with The Christian Post, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, pastor of New Season Church in California and president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, stressed that all Christians must "fall to our knees and pray."

"We pray for our leaders that God would give them clarity and wisdom. We pray that Iran's leaders would abandon terror once and for all," Rodriguez said. "We pray for the protection of innocent families in Iran, Israel, and across the region. Ultimately, we pray for peace in the Middle East."

He also commended Trump for acknowledging God after the strikes took place.

"I am extremely grateful that the president of the United States of America finished his address to the nation by affirming love for God and asking for his sovereign protection," he stated.

Rodriguez concluded his statement by encouraging Christians to stand firm in these times.

"May the Church stand united for such a time as this," he said. "We pray God brings unity where there is hurt and that He would bring hope to a broken world."

On Monday, Trump announced that he brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Iran just hours after Iran launched several missile attacks on Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in Qatar.

The president, however, issued a harsh rebuke Tuesday morning after Iran fired missiles at Israel after the ceasefire took place. Israel also seemed to have backed down from carrying a relationary strike following Trump's request for warplanes to back down.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump accused both Iran and Israel of violating the "complete and total ceasefire."

"We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f*** they're doing," he said
