G3 Ministries Leaders Apologize, Dissolve Church Network Amid Anonymous Plagiarism Accusations Controversy
G3 Ministries, an Evangelical organization that describes its mission as glorifying God by "educating, encouraging, and equipping God's people with biblical theology" on its website, is dissolving a prominent part of its organization.
The organization announced that its G3 Church Network is being shut down “effective immediately” after its leaders admitted they have sinned in sending an anonymous plagiarism dossier accusing Texas pastor Tom Buck of plagiarizing sermons.
“Most of you have heard the recent controversy," a screenshot of the G3 message posted on social media shows. "A statement was posted here: https://x.com/G3Conference/status/2092237885915201773. We are dissolving the G3 Church Network effective immediately. All who have recurring dues set up through Stripe will have those canceled by the end of the week.”
“We are sorry for any pain we have caused you,” G3 Ministries concluded.
Currently, it appears that the X.com (formerly Twitter) account referenced in that social media post no longer exists.
Scott Aniol, Jon Norton, Dylan Joyner and Matt Sikes, a part of the Pray's Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, a church affiliated with G3 ministries, shared the letter through the G3 ministries account on social media. It was addressed to Buck and the elders of First Baptist Church of Lindale, Protestia reported.
“Thank you for your patience as we took the necessary steps of communication and confession to our deacons and congregation over the last several days,” the pastors stated. “We are writing to take responsibility for our actions against Tom Buck and your church’s leadership and to seek your forgiveness.”
“We confess that we sinfully meddled in the disciplinary process of your autonomous local church. We sinned by characterizing how your church handled its discipline situation without knowing all the details,” they said. “It was wrong and even more serious to send the packets to Tom’s public ministry partners and friends. Furthermore, we should have contacted you directly rather than sending the packets anonymously.”
The statement goes on to say that the four pastors have "sinned against God" and Buck. They write that they are now seeking forgiveness for their actions. Additionally, they add how they have all resigned from their pastoral positions.
“We have sinned against God and against Tom Buck and the leadership of FBC Lindale, and we humbly ask you to forgive us. We recognize the pain this has caused your church, and we are sorry,” the letter continued. “We offer no excuse for these foolish actions. Sunday afternoon, all four of us voluntarily resigned to our congregation as pastors at Pray’s Mill Baptist Church, we humbly confessed our sin to the congregation, and our congregation graciously forgave us.”
The elders of FBC Lindale also issued a statement addressing the matter and stated they desired reconciliation.
“The Elders of FBC Lindale were emailed the letter from the former Pray’s Mill elders one minute prior to them posting it on social media. As background, after they shared their anonymous allegations with Protestia and after we discovered their involvement on July 30th, we attempted to meet with the Pray’s Mill elders privately. Our desire has been, and continues to be, for biblical reconciliation. We have not had time to meet with our elders to process or discuss the letter. This is the first admission that these men have made to us regarding any of their actions, and we will not provide a response at this time. Please pray for us and these men as we seek to meet together privately in the future to bring about truth, peace, and reconciliation,” stated the elders.
The shutting down of the G3 Church Network comes after G3 founder and president Josh Buice resigned and was disqualified as an elder at PMBC after it was revealed in May that Buice had been using multiple anonymous social media accounts to slander church leaders. Meanwhile, Anoil was named president of G3 Ministries in July 2025.
