Joe Rogan Confirms Regular Church Attendance, Says “It’s Been Very Nice”

Prominent podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan recently confirmed attending a "Christian church," describing it as a "very nice" place where people are trying to become "better." During a June 5 episode of the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, which featured comedians Shane Gillis, Mark Normand, and Ari Shaffir, Rogan was asked about his experience at church.

"It's actually very nice," he said. "They're all just trying to be better people. It's a good vibe."

His remarks came when Norman noted Rogan's decision to quit drinking alcohol for the past three months, The Christian Post reported.

"Wait, are you going to church too, or is that bull----?" Normand asked.

"I have been to church," Rogan replied to which Normand responded in surprise.

Rogan then asked, "Have you ever been to church before?"

Norman answered that he has previously attended church and then asked Rogan why he didn't attend a Catholic church.

"I tried that. I did that," Rogan said.

Recalling his own church experience, Norman told Rogan, "It's so nice. A guy gave me a rosary; I keep it. Very nice."

When asked about what type of church he attended, Rogan replied, "It's just a Christian church." Shaffir added, "A non-denominational Christian [church]."

When Gillis made a joke about Charismatic behaviors such as speaking in tongues, Normand said, "Yeah, all that f------ gibberish." "Joel Osteen s---?"

"Yeah, I'm just giving all my money to Osteen," Rogan jokingly said before refocusing the discussion on sobriety.

The podcaster went on to explain that his reasoning for quitting alcohol was "because I wanted to see what it'd be like to have no booze for a long period of time."

He added, "And it's a lot better. You feel a lot better."

Rogan admitted that he felt he would become bored at night without drinking when Normand asked him if he ever did. He also mentioned that he enjoys performing stand-up.

"I enjoy spending time in the green room," he added.

Rogan has shown increased interest Christianity since last year, including a viral conversation with Christian apologist Wes Huff in January where they discussed miracles, the Resurrection of Jesus and the nature of faith.

Last month, Huff shared that Rogan had been attending church regularly.

"That has been a consistent thing," Huff said during a guest appearance on Sola Media's podcast, "Know What You Believe with Michael Horton."

"Joe Rogan and I have had on-and-off communication since then. I can tell you for a fact that he is attending church, and that has been a consistent thing."

"And so, you know, things are happening," he added. "And he's a very inquisitive individual, and I think for the better in that he's communicating with me and other people in his life who are influences that can speak into, you know, these issues of reliability and trustworthiness and verisimilitude of something like the pages of Scripture, and where he should and shouldn't be looking for the information in regards to that."

Huff said that his conversations with Rogan over the past few months had "very encouraged" him.

"We're seeing what I don't think is an exaggeration to say, somewhat of a resurgence in interest in these topics that we've been talking about, even the nitty gritty."
