Kendra Duggar Arrested on Child Endangerment and False Imprisonment Charges in Arkansas
Kendra Duggar, the wife of former “19 Kids and Counting” cast member Joseph Duggar, was arrested last week and is facing charges in Arkansas of child endangerment and false imprisonment.
Kendra Duggar, 27, was arrested on Friday, and she and her husband, Joseph Duggar, 31, were charged in Washington County with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment, KNWA reported.
In addition to the Arkansas case, Duggar was arrested last Wednesday and faces a separate charge in Florida of lewd and lascivious behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a 14 year old, shared in a forensic interview that Duggar sexually abused her several times when she was 9 during a family vacation in Panama City Beach in 2020, The Christian Post reported.
According to investigators, Joseph Duggar later apologized and stopped the incidents altogether. Additionally, the girl’s father confronted Joseph Duggar on the day prior to his arrest, and Joseph Duggar admitted his actions to investigators.
Joseph and Kendra Duggar have been married since September 2017 and have four children.
The news of both arrests comes over a decade after TLC pulled “19 Kids and Counting”, an American reality television show following Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children in Arkansas, after Josh Duggar was accused of molesting his sisters. He is currently serving a 12 sentence after he was later convicted in 2021 of receiving and possessing child pornography.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Josh Duggar’s lawyer told the news outlet that he does not maintain consistent contact with Joseph Duggar and is praying for his well-being.
“Josh understands the stigma of being accused,” his attorney told the Daily Mail.
“He lives with the painful reality of how false accusations can destroy a life. He understands how the targeting of a person for publicity can twist the truth into sensationalized fiction.”
