Political Leaders Pray for Biden after He Announces Aggressive Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Former president Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer, Biden's office confirmed on Sunday.
"Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms," Biden's team shared in a statement. "On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone."
"While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management," the team added. "The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians."
According to the White House at the time, Biden had a "cancerous" skin lesion removed from his chest when he was president.
In February 2023, Former White House physician Kevin O'Connor said that skin tissue was removed during a health assessment Biden received and was sent for a biopsy, which revealed it was cancerous.
Several political figures, including President Donald Trump, expressed their thoughts and prayers for Biden at this time.
"Melania and I are saddened to hear about @JoeBiden's recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery." Trump wrote in a post issued by the White House.

"Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family," former president Barack Obama wrote, with whom Biden served alongside as Vice President. "Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery."

Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership," Harris stated. "We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.

As reported by Fox News, Biden had two life-threatening brain aneurysms prior to his presidency while serving as a Delaware Senator. At the time, doctors said he had a 50-50 chance of survival.
Both surgeries turned out to be a success, and Biden has had no aneurysms since.
