‘The Real World’ Star Davis Mallory Leaves Gay Lifestyle Behind, Shares Powerful Christian Testimony
Davis Mallory, known for his time in MTV’s reality series, “The Real World: Denver” and “The Challenge,” recounted how the Lord saved him from the homosexual lifestyle through a woman he is now dating.
Mallory first went viral after sharing his testimony at a Christian conference last year and made headlines again earlier this month after going public with his now-girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan.
“It’s crazy what love can do. I love you,” Mallory wrote in an Instagram post last month, which included a photo of the two sharing a kiss.
He recalled how he met Rachel at a Bible study, after she approached him because she felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray for him.
“She said, ‘I can tell you’re very afraid right now, and the devil wants you to stay afraid because you’ll make mistakes because you’ll trip,’” he recalled in an interview with CBN News.
Mallory, a singer-songwriter and DJ, also had similar experiences prior to the Bible study.
“I was singing in Hawaii and, on my flight home from Hawaii, I fell asleep on the plane, and I woke up, and all I heard was, ‘Lean not on your own understanding,’” Mallory said. “And I knew a little bit — that that was somewhere in the Bible, but didn’t know fully where it was. But I knew that God was saying, like, ‘I got you. You don’t understand what’s happening right now, Davis, but I got you.’”
The next day, he had a dream in which he was working in an army bunker with other men and felt God wanted him to be with like-minded brothers in the faith, which ultimately led him to attend the Bible study where he met Rachel.
Following these experiences, Mallory says he now has “complete peace” and now desires to tell others about Christ.
Despite having a conservative, Christian upbringing, Mallory came out as gay after dating girls in his childhood. He noted how becoming gay “overrid” his upbringing and what he was taught as a child and teen, but he later realized that the lifestyle he was living was in contradiction to God’s will.
“For me, it was just gradual,” he explained. “It was failed relationship after failed relationship. It was falling in love with a man for him to then cheat on me with another man, and then to do it all over again, and all over again, and finding these relationships that were non-monogamous that were really lustful, and were really unfulfilling.”
After his meeting with Vaughn, Mallory shared that he had an eye-opening experience when he heard a message from ex-porn star-turned-pastor Joshua Broome at a Christian conference he attended.
“The fruits of my lifestyle was what was robbing me, and it was actually Josh Broome and going to a Christian conference, hearing John 10:10 spoken where the devil comes to rob from you, to steal from you,and to kill you, and I thought about the homosexual lifestyle,” Mallory said.
Ultimately, Mallory saw that friends he knew who were also living a homosexual lifestyle were either unhappy, contracted HIV or even committed suicide.
“I was just seeing that that lifestyle was really not producing the fruit of joy,” he said.
Following his initial interaction with Vaughn, the two struck up a friendship, which has since developed into a romantic relationship. Vaughn, according to Mallory, has changed how he views and looks at love. The former MTV star says that being with Vaughn helped him understand the true meaning of love.
“I was also seeing how lust will keep all of us attracted to every single person who’s beautiful because lust is just an attraction to beauty,” Mallory said. “But love is meeting the person that God designed for you.”
“And that was what I was finally feeling was this beautiful feeling of love, and I believe that every man, woman who has any kind of same-sex attraction can find this if they’re obedient and looking for it.”
