Trump Announces Israel-Iran Ceasefire after 12 Days of Conflict

President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran have reached a ceasefire following 12 days of conflict between both countries.
"CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!" the president wrote on Monday.
He added that the ceasefire will last for 12 hours from each side—first initiated by Iran, then Israel—totaling 24 hours.
"During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end what should be called "THE 12 DAY WAR," he continued. "This is a War that could have gone on for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn't and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!"
As reported by Reuters, an Iranian official confirmed that Tehran had agreed to a ceasefire.

Trump made his announcement just hours after Iran launched a missile strike on Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in Qatar. The attack was in retaliation for American airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend.
On Saturday evening, Trump addressed the nation in the wake of U.S. airstrikes on Iranian facilities in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The attacks were carried out using B-2 stealth bombers and Tomahawk missiles launched from submarines.
"Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success," he said at the time. "Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier."
