The daughter of Christian singer Amy Grant donated a kidney to her best friend, according to an Instagram post.
Grant’s daughter, 27-year-old Gloria Mills “Millie” Chapman, recently made the sacrificial decision to give one of her kidneys to her dear friend in need. Millie is Grant's second child with her former husband, Gary Chapman.
According to Billboard.com, on Monday, Chapman posted a picture of his daughter on Instagram with the caption:
“This is my oldest daughter, Gloria Mills Chapman. Tomorrow morning she is donating a kidney to her best friend, Kathryn. They've know each other their entire lives and when Kathryn was in need, turns out Millie was a perfect match. I'm so proud of her, words fail me. Please say a prayer for them both and trust, with me, that they are in His hands. G”
On Tuesday, Chapman posted an update, stating that both Millie and Kathryn are recovering well after surgery.
Grant also praised her daughter’s sacrificial decision: “We are so proud of Millie's selfless act of friendship and are grateful that both girls are doing well after yesterday's surgeries...”
