The city of Jonesboro, Arkansas has removed Bible verses from its Facebook page after atheist group the Freedom From Religion Foundation sent a letter of complaint.
The AP reports the Bible verses appeared on the city’s Dispatch Jonesboro Facebook page. They have since been removed, and Mayor Harold Perrin said he was not aware that the religious text existed in the first place.
Jonesboro has over a dozen Facebook pages for the city, police department, fire department and others. Mayor Perrin now says he would like all city pages to be moved to one server and controlled by the Jonesboro communications director.
