A high school football star, who earlier this year was praised for helping assemble "blessing bags" for the homeless, has been accused of rape.

According to The Christian Post, court documents say Crosley MacEachen, 18, has been accused of raping a girl as she slept at her home in Ohio. He has been charged with rape, gross sexual imposition and sexual battery.

The documents say the girl was asleep in her bedroom when she woke up early on the morning of December 6, 2020, to find MacEachen "on top of her," having sexual intercourse.

"She pushed him off her and realized she was naked, despite wearing clothes when she went to sleep," the documents say.

The girl also said that a month before the rape, MacEachen had previously entered her home and "grabbed her buttocks." He also "pushed her back down" when she tried to get up from the bed.

MacEachen's attorney, R. Scott Crosswell III, told The Daily Beast that the "charges are unproven allegations."

"We intend to aggressively defend these charges," he said.

MacEachen had intended to play football at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, this fall. The University of Saint Francis said in a statement that they were aware of the criminal charges against MacEachen.

"That student has withdrawn from the university," the statement said.

MacEachen's former high school, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, told WLWT that they were "saddened" to hear the news.

"CHCA has learned of an investigation which has resulted in charges filed against a former student. The alleged incident did not occur on school property nor during a school-sponsored event. CHCA is saddened for the individuals and families affected by this alleged incident, and our prayers remain with them," the school said.

The school had announced in May MacEachen's decision to sign with the University of St. Francis.

"Crosley is one of the most dynamic football players that I've had the pleasure to coach," CHCA Head Football Coach KC Woods said when MacEachen first committed to the University of St. Francis. "Every time he touched the ball, everyone's eyes got a little bigger. He is also one of the smartest football minds that I have coached. He understands the game as well as most coaches do. Crosley will have a remarkable career for NAIA powerhouse St. Francis."
