Federal Agents Conduct Raid on ‘Machine Gun Preacher,’ ‘Totally Destroyed’ Charity’s Shipment

On Friday, February 7th federal agents reportedly raided the home and business of pastor and crusader Sam Childers. Childers is known as the ‘Machine Gun Preacher,’ and has worked for many years to rescue orphans and child soldiers in Sudan. As Childers told WJAC-TV over the phone, the federal agents “went into a container that was packed and ready to come to the orphanage and totally destroyed it…I mean, destroyed it, and what’s so sad is that it was all children’s clothes.” Currently in Africa, Childers believes that the raid came as a result of false allegations made by a former son-in-law that Childers is smuggling firearms out of the U.S. – a claim Childers vehemently denies.

An adaptation of Sam Childers’ call to his mission in African can be seen in the movie Machine Gun Preacher (starring Gerard Butler) which released in 2012.
