Franklin Graham Addresses Open Letter to Obama on Gun Control

Franklin Graham has written an open letter to President Obama, telling the President that his executive actions to curb gun violence fail to address the root cause of the issue.

According to The Blaze, Graham stated that the true cause of gun violence is human sin.

“Mr. President, you’re looking at the wrong place when it comes to the root cause of gun violence,” Graham began. . . . “You can take all the guns in America and put them in a pile on the Mall in Washington D.C., and those guns will stay there and will eventually rust and decay,” he wrote. “Not one gun will crawl out of that pile and shoot or harm anyone. It takes a human being, and a human heart bent on evil, to pick up a gun, load it, and pull the trigger.”

Graham said he believes the government under Obama has tried to take God out of society and that sin is prevalent.

Graham also wrote that he believes the violence in entertainment, Hollywood, and video games promotes a culture of gun violence.

“Every night the networks, movie channels, and theaters are filled with programming that glamorizes gun violence — guns are used to shoot, to kill, and to splatter human blood all over screens across America,” he said.

Graham went on to propose that if legislation were put in place to stop the prevalence of violence in entertainment, gun violence would go down.
