Brianna Rollins won a gold medal last night in the Rio Olympic Games, but she says she wants to be remembered for her faith as well as her athleticism.

Rollins took the gold in the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Her two U.S. teammates, Nia Ali, and Kristi Castlin, got silver and bronze. It was the first time since 1972 that a single country had won gold, silver, and bronze in that event, according to The Christian Examiner.

In a post-race interview, Rollins was quick to speak of her Christian faith:

"I just kept God first and just continued to let Him guide me throughout the rounds," she said. "We formed a prayer circle this morning and we just let His presence come upon us."

"I'm just so excited; we are blessed. I’m grateful to God,” she continued, adding that it was an honor to be able to run and medal with Ali and Castlin.

Rollins often shares about her faith on social media.

"I want to break world records and win gold medals, but I also want to be known as the athlete who glorified God by reaching my full potential,” says her Twitter profile.

Her Twitter bio also references her faith: "Glorifying God through the talent He blessed me with! Professional Hurdler ... God is Love."
