The Recent March Christians May Not Have Heard about but Should Have

Last Saturday, March 24, more than two million people took part in March for Our Lives rallies in Washington D.C. and other locations across the country. There was another march that took place that day, however, that you probably haven’t heard about.

While the March for Our Lives focused on how to prevent gun violence, the March for Eternal Life celebrated the Christian faith and commemorated Palm Sunday, the day in the Bible when Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem before he would suffer and die on the cross and be resurrected three days later.

According to Charisma News, the March for Eternal Life took place in Dallas, Texas and thousands took part in it.

Participants in the March for Eternal Life carried a 16-foot-tall illuminated cross which they erected in Klyde Warren Park.

The event also featured New Orleans style jazz music and palm branches in celebration of Palm Sunday. Dr. Robert Jeffress was present to give a message to the crowd and Christian singer Sandi Patty also performed.

Jeffress described the purpose of the march: "Ours is a positive march with a positive message—God loves us, He's not mad at us, and He invites us into a personal relationship with Him."
