Relationship over Religion

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” >James 1:22

In today’s world, there are so many people who consider themselves “religious” or “spiritual”. Ask most people you meet if they have a relationship with God, and many will say they do. But saying it and living it are two very different things.

A real relationship with God isn’t based on religion. It’s not about how spiritual we are. And it’s not based on what we know about Him. A true relationship with God – one that transforms our lives – is based on what we do with what we learn! Are you pushing away from the table and putting into practice what you learn about God?

Thank God for the fact that you can have a relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus. Pray that you continue to develop an appreciation for that relationship.

Read James 1:19-27. And remember today that a relationship with God is seen in what you do, not what you know.
